Details: Z-PP-CHO dimethylacetal was shown to be a potent inhibitor of prolyl endopeptidase (PEP), a cytoplasmic serine endoprotease (IC₅₀= 120 nM). It is suggested that PEP inhibitors could be useful for the treatment of cognitive dysfunction in aging and neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer´s disease.
