Details: The tetrapeptide DGEA corresponding to residues 435-438 of the type I collagen sequence is the minimal active recognition sequence for the α₂β₁ integrin complex on platelets and other cells. It was shown that DGEA inhibited platelet adhesion to collagen at concentrations comparable to its parent peptide (430-442).
