Details: The inactive NPY carboxy-terminal pentapeptide (IC₅₀ > 100 µM) was modified by replacing threonine with histidine and glutamine with leucine. The resulting peptide had a dramatically improved affinity (IC₅₀ = 0.45 µM) for the rat brain receptor.
